Hello dear readers!
Sorry for the delay of the concluding piece about my NYC road trip. I did become very motivated to finish it however as I’m currently preparing for my next trip! I leave in almost a month to the day and cannot be more excited already.
This trip, lasting about 12 days (for now – there may be an update on this so stay tuned!) will be very different from any other I’ve taken in terms of destination, time of year that I’m traveling, and in a few other subtle ways. I’ve never traveled to this continent, especially this area, but this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that could not be passed up.
Now I know you’re all waiting anxiously, possibly white-knuckled on your mouse or scroll bar, as you scream “where are you going?!?!” so let me tell you. Drum roll please! My next trip is to…
Yup, that’s right! Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). For those with less than on-point geography I’ll save you the hassle of Google Mapping the location and just tell you that it is located in the Middle East. In fact, I’ll be so kind as to provide you with a map:
Honestly I spoil you guys.
Moving along, I can assure you I’ve never been to the Middle-East or any country outside of North America or Europe. I’ll be staying with my aunt and uncle who have been living there for years and are therefore familiar with the cultural customs but I know I will be experiencing a totally different way of life of there. Has anyone been? Are there any words of wisdom you’d like to share?
For now, I’m still working plenty and biding my time before I get too excited. I still have a month. In this time, as I said, I’ll just be working and going to a wedding and other smaller events but I’m sure as anyone who likes to travel knows, once those tickets are booked the countdown begins. I have been keeping an eye out for the stuff I’ll need for my trip (and yes, the dress I bought for a nice dinner was essentially a need) so that keeps it in the forefront of my brain, preventing the trip from feeling years away. I also need a camera, so I’ve been shopping around for that too.
Anyway loves, that’s my update! I hope you come back to read about how the trip goes and I’m sure I’ll post a little closer to take-off! Until then, play safe and enjoy your summer!
